How long have you been in business?
Around 35 years.
What is your primary product or service?
Stone Sculpture. Public Art Commissions have been for Memorials, Functional and figurative expressions and many private collections.
Faux Bronze Sculpture for private collections. Large epoxy/foam/auto paint sculptures.
Paintings... mixed mediums. Visual statements about the human condition.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I have always worked for myself creating art. I have Degrees from College of Marin and U.C.Berkeley, CA. Yes, I am the owner of M.C.Carolyn, artist. www.mccarolyn.com
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
All of my artwork is unique. Commissions are designed for specific requirements and spaces. Gallery pieces, both sculpture and paintings, involve the human figure that moves beyond photographic representations and speak of the human condition.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
My gallery and studio are located on Carolyn Mountain, outside Healdsburg, CA.

101 N to Healdsburg, CA. Take central Healdsburg Exit. At 2nd signal take a sharp left turn onto Westside Road. Follow it past Mill Creek Winery to Mill Creek Road on the right. Turn right and drive 9 miles. At the top of a long steep hill, the Gateway to my Gallery/Studio is on the right. Follow the signs to MCC.

Cash, check & plastic.
Which areas do you service?
Sonoma, Napa & the S.F. Bay area. I also work on line to create site specific work that is then installed where ever that is in the continental U.S. (see my Lake Tahoe group of sculptures in www.mccarolyn.com).

What are your hours of operation?

What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
When sitting on a bench in an area where one of my marble sculptures (Untitled, Sept 9/11) was installed the woman sitting next to me said, " I have felt like that myself!" It was a special compliment because she was a tired working Latina taking a minute to rest on her way back home.
At an exhibit my painting "2 ages of man" caused many men to quickly move away as soon as they really looked at the work. Another man told me that it was definitely the best work in the exhibit..... so i did move people to react & hopefully take home my image within their heart.
